Terms of Service

Effective date: March 1, 2026 · Last updated: March 13, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Mechanic Bot ("Service"), provided by Mountain Grown Media LLC ("Company", "we", "us"). By installing the Mechanic agent or subscribing to any plan, you agree to these Terms.

1. What the Service Is

Mechanic Bot is a monitoring and auto-repair service for self-hosted OpenClaw agents. It installs a small background process on your machine that connects to our hub and automatically detects and repairs common failures — such as gateway crashes, config corruption, and low disk space.

2. What We Access

The Mechanic agent installed on your machine has access to:

We do not access, store, or transmit: your OpenClaw conversation history, your Telegram bot messages, any credentials other than what is required to restart your gateway, or any files outside the OpenClaw installation directory.

3. Subscription and Payment

Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. Prices are displayed at mechanicbot.io/plans. You may cancel at any time; your subscription remains active until the end of the billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months.

Free trials (where offered) require no credit card upfront. After the trial ends, you must subscribe to continue receiving monitoring and auto-repair.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

5. Uptime and Reliability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee any specific uptime SLA on the Basic plan. Pro and Biz plans receive priority support. Planned maintenance will be announced at least 24 hours in advance when possible.

We are not responsible for downtime of your OpenClaw bot caused by factors outside our control, including platform outages, DNS failures, or changes to OpenClaw itself.

6. Data Retention

We retain repair logs, audit trails, and diagnostic data for up to 90 days. Health metrics are retained for 30 days. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at support@mechanicbot.io.

7. Security

All communication between the Mechanic agent and our hub is encrypted via TLS. PTY sessions are signed with Ed25519 keys — the agent will reject any unsigned or expired session request. We store signing keys in secrets management systems (not on disk in production).

Despite these precautions, no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the machine on which you install the agent.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company's total liability for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 30 days preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including data loss or bot downtime.

The Service is provided "as is". We make no warranty that it will catch every failure or repair every issue.

9. Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account page or by contacting us. We reserve the right to terminate your account for violations of these Terms, with or without notice.

On termination, your installation token is revoked. The Mechanic agent will stop connecting to our hub on its next restart. Your OpenClaw gateway continues running — we never stop or modify your gateway on cancellation.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
